Countryside Days

In the early days of our charity, Countryside Days were the initial engagement young people had with us. Here young people were given the opportunity to explore Scotland’s natural environments; woodlands, lochs, rivers, mountains, moors and coast, and in these areas visit working country estates, farms, recreational businesses, renewable energy sites and many other rural industries.

These countryside taster sessions were the first step in our Pathways to Rural Work Initiative.

More recently we have shifted our emphasis to working with smaller groups of young people at the ‘senior school end’ of secondary school, working on improving employability skills and securing work placements, jobs and further education places.
